Welcome to the Frederick
Symphony Orchestra's
2009-2010 Season!
Dear
FSO Friends,
Welcome to our 13th season!
We have a full menu of musical delights to offer you this year.
In October we focus on music evocative of Scotland featuring Maryland violinist Ronald Mutchnik as soloist for Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy and Mendelssohn’s poetic Scottish Symphony (No. 3). December brings a note of Baroque grandeur to our ever popular Holiday Concerts with music of Handel and Bach featuring several fine FSO soloists.
Always an audience favorite, March features the winner of our Young Artist Competition (for winds this year) surrounded by music of Romantic masters Wagner and Brahms. May’s program is awash in color with classics by two of music’s most sensual composers, Debussy and Tchaikovsky, and American composer Robert Beaser’s glittering Song of the Bells featuring Baltimore-based flutist David LaVorgna. Finally, our June Pops Concert spotlights dances from the waltz to the jitterbug and beyond.
Enjoy the show!
